China M-visa requirements: a business-trip document checklist

Build one packet per applicant. Check the passport, residence evidence and Chinese host invitation together, then separate online uploads from the originals needed for submission.

China business visa processing time: plan the whole passport journey

The Embassy lists four business days for regular processing and three for approved urgent processing, counted from passport submission. Preparation, online review and shipping need their own time allowances.

China business visa cost: consular fee, services and shipping

For a US citizen, the published regular consular visa fee is USD 140 through December 31, 2026. Build your total by adding only the CEV services, shipping legs and optional support you select.

China M-visa validity, multiple entries and permitted stay

US citizens may apply for a business visa valid for up to ten years under the reciprocal arrangement. Validity, number of entries and the length of each stay are separate terms decided by the consular officer.

China business visa not approved? Identify the stage before acting

An online correction request, a pending review and a refusal are different situations. Read the official status and feedback first; a delayed update alone does not establish a refusal.

Canton Fair visa planning: invitation, exhibition phase and passport

For commercial attendance, check the M-visa route or any applicable visa exemption for your passport and itinerary. Organizer registration, a fair invitation and a Chinese visa are separate steps.

China business visas for employees: an employer’s coordination brief

Coordinate one trip plan while keeping each employee’s application, consular jurisdiction and passport handoff distinct. Start with a simple responsibility matrix and contact CEV through the existing support route.

Start with the purpose of your visit

The M visa is for commercial and trade activities in mainland China. This guide is for applicants living in the United States, including US citizens and residents travelling on other passports. Check whether you already hold a usable visa or qualify for an official visa exemption before buying application services.

Describe the actual meetings, negotiations or trade-fair attendance to your host. Employment in China is a different application route; an employer calling a trip ‘business’ does not establish the correct visa category. The consular office determines the visa issued.

The Embassy allows an applicant or agent to submit after online preliminary review without an appointment. Passing that review is not visa approval. Mailing a passport to CEV is a courier handoff, not an application mailed to the Embassy.

Arrange the help your trip needs

CEV is an independent service provider, not a Chinese embassy, consulate or government affiliate. Select preparation support, consulate handoffs and shipping separately. For broader application assistance, check the VIP package inclusions in the service configuration; no package guarantees approval or a travel date.
