Historical context: 12.8 days, with a different clock
Owner-published servicein aggregates for March 2024–September 2026 show a median of 12.8 calendar days for 81 completed M-visa orders (n = 81); P25 was 10.0 days and P80 was 18.9 days. The interval was order placed to order marked complete, including customer mailing and return. The completion timestamp depends on when staff marked the order complete; it is not a measured passport-delivery timestamp or consular processing duration.
This historical sample is context, not a current estimate or deadline. It excludes unfinished orders and is not a promise of performance. Verified M-visa medians by consular district are not available here: the residence-to-jurisdiction analysis and minimum 20-order checks are pending. No district comparison is inferred from the overall sample.
Your date-planning worksheet
Write down the dates and unresolved dependencies below. Unknown review time stays unknown; this worksheet does not calculate a ‘safe latest application date’.
| Write down | Confirm with | If unresolved |
|---|---|---|
| First meeting / fair phase; departure and passport-needed date | Traveller and meeting organizer | Keep the travel commitment flexible. |
| Other trips requiring the original passport | Traveller | Resolve custody conflicts before mailing. |
| Invitation ready; COVA submitted; corrections returned | Chinese host and applicant | Allow for another correction cycle; do not treat a draft as submitted. |
| Passport submission and collection status | Responsible office / your agent | Keep monitoring; do not turn the estimated collection date into a confirmed booking. |
| Return address and carrier service | CEV order instructions and carrier | Account for weekends, office closures and delivery disruption. |
If the trip is close
- Check the exact application stage first; online review and physical processing require different follow-up.
- Ask whether your documented urgent circumstances qualify for express service at the responsible office; do not assume eligibility.
- Confirm the purchased handoffs and shipping options, then review whether the meeting or travel can be changed.
- Wait for the official collection status and inspect the returned passport before relying on the issued visa.
