# Invitation-letter mistakes: a discrepancy-checking workshop

[Service guides](https://app.chinaentryvisa.com/guides) › [China visa invitation letters: who writes what?](https://app.chinaentryvisa.com/guides/china-visa-invitation-letter) › Invitation-letter mistakes: a discrepancy-checking workshop

Compare identity, dates, funding, authorship and submission instructions. Each exercise below is hypothetical, with a concrete way to check and correct the discrepancy.

## Exercises, not a ranking of rejection causes

All examples on this page are hypothetical fictional teaching scenarios. They are not customer cases, observed rejection counts or a claim about which errors occur most often. No verified invitation-specific aggregate dataset or consented customer case is available for this guide.

Use the official invitation content list and online upload guidance as your starting point. A mismatch is a reason to investigate; this page does not predict rejection or guarantee approval after correction.

## Find the discrepancy; identify who can fix it

| Hypothetical discrepancy | Check against | Correction and owner |
| --- | --- | --- |
| EXAMPLE ONLY · Passport identifier ends in 42; invitation ends in 24. These are fictional fragments, not real identifiers. | Current passport and form, character by character. | Applicant supplies verified information; inviter corrects and reissues its own letter. Do not edit a signed image yourself. |
| EXAMPLE ONLY · Form says 10–14 November 2030; invitation says 10–17 November 2030. | The actual agreed visit, including which date changed. | Applicant and inviter agree the real dates, then update the affected documents. Neither fictional range is a recommended trip. |
| EXAMPLE ONLY · Employer promises airfare only; invitation says employer pays every expense. | The actual allocation confirmed by employer, applicant and inviter. | Each issuer corrects its own statement to describe the true payment commitment. |
| EXAMPLE ONLY · US employer letter supplied where the request asks for the Chinese trade partner’s invitation. | The responsible office’s request and the actual document issuer. | Obtain the required document from the real inviter; do not rename the employer letter. |
| EXAMPLE ONLY · A file preview cuts off the last line and signature area. | The complete version held by the issuer, not just the upload thumbnail. | Get a complete readable image and check every page. Never add a simulated signature or seal. |
| EXAMPLE ONLY · Email sent to the office, but the portal still requests the invitation. | The application’s upload instructions and the office’s message. | Use the required channel; Los Angeles’ FAQ says email-only transmission is not accepted. Clarify any remaining ambiguity with that office. |

## A repeatable check before submission

1. Place the current passport, draft form, genuine invitation and relevant supporting documents side by side.
2. Mark each difference without guessing which document is correct. Ask the party that owns the fact to confirm it.
3. Have the issuer correct its document; compare the final version again, including signatures, dates and every page.
4. Review the uploaded version at readable size and confirm it is the intended final document. Follow any later consular correction request.

Keep proposed visit dates, the visa’s validity, the duration permitted per stay and processing estimates in separate notes. A letter requesting a visit does not determine any visa decision or promise a completion date.

## When review can help

CEV is an independent service provider, not a consular office. CEV does not issue, ghostwrite or buy invitation letters, and does not supply an inviter. The genuine inviting party is responsible for the letter; the applicant verifies their own information; the consular office decides what to accept and whether to issue a visa. Existing form and material review can help check preparation within the selected service, without guaranteeing approval or timing.

Bring a specific discrepancy question to the existing review service. Ask what needs clarification and who should supply it; the genuine inviter remains responsible for the letter. If a consular request is unclear, resolve that request rather than purchasing an invitation or inventing a relationship.
